Portraits of Asia continues with a journey to one of the last hidden gems of the world. A place where prayer flags flap in the wind. Where the crisp and clear glacial rivers flow cold and fast. A place shrouded in mystery. Somewhere time has forgotten… The Kingdom of Bhutan!
Until recently Bhutan was essentially cut off from the rest of the world. A place most people have never heard of and even fewer have experienced. Whether you choose to trek the himalayas; Immerse yourself in the local Buddhist culture; Interact with the locals; And much, much more. You’ll be left with a lasting impression. An appreciation for a simpler life, a simpler time.
To take you on this epic journey, we have selected Kadinchey by Nick Bertke. A short but beautiful movie that’ll give you a glimpse of what life is like in Bhutan. But, being as off the beaten path as it is, there just isn’t one film you can watch. Do a bit of searching, see what you can find. Share your favorites with us.

It’s here! Part four of Portraits of Asia features one of the best destinations in the world… Vietnam! To introduce this beautiful country we’ve selected a great short video, by one of our favorite film makers- A Taste of Vietnam by The Perennial Plate.
Almost a right of passage for a foodie. The french infused asian flavors of Vietnam will tease your taste buds. But it’s not only about the food. With mile after mile of lush, green, jungle covered mountains; endless white sand beaches; fast paced cities; friendly people; tons of history, and much, much, more. Vietnam will be a shock to the senses!
Hop on the back of a motor bike for a ride through the orchestrated chaos that is driving in Ho Chi Minh City. Get lost in the small alleys of the old quarter of Hanoi. Enjoy a bowl of Pho on a street corner. Head to the tropical beaches of Nha Trang. Witness the natural beauty and grandeur of the rice terraces of Sa Pa and the limestone bluffs of Ha Long Bay. The list could go on and on.
Rather than reading about Vietnam, spend under four minutes and let the love affair begin… And don’t forget to tell us what you think!

Let us know what you think!?!?
